The first Erasmus+ lesson: “Introduction to social entrepreneurship”
Continuing the activities of the ERASMUS+ KA210-SCH project “Social Vibes & Biz: music, technologies and social entrepreneurship”, the first open lesson entitled “Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship” took place at Kaunas 1st Music School on March 2, 2026. The lesson was delivered by solfeggio teacher Monika Drevininkienė and music history teacher Jūratė Karalevičienė. This lesson was organised as part of the project’s WP2 “Teachers’ training” activity A2.2 “Development of methodological materials on the development of social entrepreneurship for students.”
During the lesson, students were introduced to the concept of social entrepreneurship, its main principles, and its possibilities in the context of music education. They were encouraged to understand that musical abilities can become not only a form of artistic expression, but also the basis for meaningful initiatives that help create value for others and seek solutions to relevant social issues.
An important part of the lesson was the students’ discussions and their own observations. The students noted that music can help people feel more included, understood, and needed, while musical initiatives can become a space for communication, community-building, and the development of social awareness.
For some students, this lesson helped them see music in a new way — not only as an artistic activity, but also as a means of creating meaningful social change.
The first lesson of this project became an important step in broadening students’ understanding of the possibilities of music in contemporary society. Such activities foster creativity, initiative, and empathy, and encourage young people to look more responsibly at their abilities and the value they can create for the community.
